The IBGS banquet and luncheon will take place at the Grand Wayne Convention Center, which is adjacent to the Ft. Wayne Hilton Hotel and across the street from the Allen County Public Library. The conference will be held at the Allen County Public Library.
We are honored to have as the Luncheon Keynote Speaker, Ms. Hana Stith, Curator of the African/African American Historical Museum, Ft Wayne and the Banquet Keynote Speaker, Ms. Dorothy Spruill Redford, author of Somerset Homecoming: Recovering a Lost Heritage. There will be exciting workshops, door prize raffles, wonderful entertainment, exhibitors, vendors and much more to make this inaugural event a success that you will not want to miss.

New: The Allen County Library has planned a Pre-Conference on Thursday, October 29th, to start at 9:00 AM to be held at the library. This is to introduce the IBGS to the local and surrounding communities that are not involved in genealogy research. With the energy level that is being expected from all of the participants, this genealogy bug will bite more unsuspecting victims :) Please check the ACPL web site, under Genealogy Special Programs to see the details. All will be welcomed.

- THURSDAY - October 29, 2009
Extended Library Hours - 9:00 a.m. - midnight (Library open late for IBGS members only-Conference Badge is required. The patrons will be allowed only in the Genealogy Center for these extended hours)
Change: Registration 3:00 PM - 8:30 PM in the Calhoun Room in the Hotel Networking Reception - Calhoun Room in Hotel- 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
- FRIDAY - October 30
Extended Library Research Hours - 6:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. (Library opens early for IBGS members)
Registration - Library Globe Room - 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. (It is recommended that you try to register as early as possible so that you don't miss out on any of the events that will be happening. More details to follow.) All on-site registration will be handled daily during the registation hour indicated. During lunch on Friday, registration will be open briefly until 12:00 - 12:30. There will be no all day registration.
New: Continental breakfast - 7:00 a.m. - Library - Conference Room A
Opening Session - Library - 8:15 - 9:30 a.m. Conference (full day) - Library - 10:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Lunch - On your own - 11:00 - 12:30 Cocktail Hour - Convention Center - 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. (No-host bar) Banquet w/Keynote Speaker - Convention Center - 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. (encouraging African attire) Please plan to arrive by prior to 6:00 PM for a special treat.

All on-site registration will be handled only during this hour. This is the luncheon day, so registration will not be open during lunch.

If you are interested in seeing the museum, be sure to purchase your ride passes at either Thursday or Friday registration hours, when the representatives from the cab and carriage companies will be present.
